Description:
Constructed in 1819, High Street, Singapore's very first street, and North Bridge Road are two of Singapore¡¯s oldest streets. Both were laid out byLt Henry Ralfe, gunnery officer aboard the Nearchus, one of the vessels which accompanied Raffles on his founding visit to Singapore in 1819. You will note two electric trams; these were introduced to Singapore in 1905 and ran until 1927. Visible beyond the tram on North Bridge Road is the original iron Elgin Bridge, which was imported from Calcutta and erected by Mr George Lyons in 1862.

All our reproduction photographs are double matted (unless otherwise stated) and ready for framing.
